EAGLE PROJECT
I contacted Hillside Covenant Church in hopes that they would offer me a problem I could solve. I toured the facility with the church director and realized that they did not have much space. The parking lot and the church itself took up the whole flat area on the side of the hill. I looked over the edge of a guard rail and found just 50 feet downhill there was a wide open field that could easily be used for church events.
Working with the church director, my troop, and companies from around the Bay Area, I was able to build stairs that provided access to the open field. Over the course of a year I planned this project and on two days we cleaned the field and built the staircase. I would like to thank my father for not only his guidance, but also his determination to stay hands-off. I am proud to say I took point in planning and executing this project.
